Hello and Welcome

Short Bio on the Author
Tracey Smith is a children’s book author, who resides in Maryland. Tracey always wanted to publish her own children’s book, and with motivation through her granddaughter's eyes, she decided to give it a try, and wrote her first children’s book titled, A Day in Quarantine with Jordyn: Jordyns’ Journeys, during the COVID outbreak. This book takes you through a day in quarantine with Jordyn and all of the fun things that she does with her mom. Jordyn is so bored and wants to do all of her favorite things in one day! The book is available in several public county libraries, such as Montgomery, Frederick, Prince George’s, Baltimore and Dorchester County Public Libraries in Maryland, as well as libraries in Solano County, California, and Wayne County, Michigan. It’s available in the Chicago Public Library as well. It's also available for Montgomery County Public Schools Media Specialists to order in their database, for their individual school libraries. The book is recommended for reading levels K, 1, 2 and 3, in the MCPS library database.

Tracey added a Jordyn's Journeys Coloring & Activity Book to the series, as well as a Spanish version of A Day in Quarantine with Jordyn.

She recently added a new book to the series titled Where's Grandma?: A Child's View in Loss, Grief and Bereavement. This book takes you through Jordyn's Journey, as she deals with the loss of her great-grandma. Jordyn's emotions are up, down and everywhere, and she has so many questions. Where did she go, and what does it mean to transition? It's a beautifully illustrated children's book dealing with loss and grief, from a child's perspective.

Tracey enjoys writing and plans on publishing more books on Jordyn’s journeys in the very near future. Jordyn has a busy, fun-filled life, so writing about her comings and goings is pretty easy to do.

When Tracey is not writing or jotting down her notes, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family, and she thanks all of you for supporting her on her book writing journey.
